Cellar 7 wine making kits.
Cellar 7 wine kits are made by Youngs and contain 5 litres of concentrated grape juice. The great advantage of this over some of the budget wine kits is that no additional sugar is needed. The grape juice contains all of the sugar required and gives a much more natural taste and quality to the finished wine. The kits will make 30 bottles of wine and the makers claim it will be ready in 7 days.
I usually find that fermentation takes a little longer than claimed however so allow at least 10 days.
The kits are made from good quality European grape juice concentrates and use a special strain of yeast. Youngs claim that these wine kits ferment in around 5 days, clear in 2 days and so are ready to drink in about 7 days. In practice, I would say ready to drink in about 2 weeks and, as with any good commercial wine, they will improve considerably if left for a few months to mature.
The kits are available in a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Merlot Blush, Italian Red, Italian White, Pinot Grigio and a Chardonnay. Highly recommended.
